After seeing SHADY BLUE I found their brand of music left me anything but blue.
Instead, they lit a bonfire on their musical mountain with singer Jocelyne Cleroux's
HIGH OCTANE VOICE
which drew us like a moth to the flame with laments ,taunts and sultry invitation.
The steady bass of Doug Hill and the solid rythm of flatpicker Don Mann supplied the oxygen for a steady burn.
Michael Ball's ACCOMPLISHED fiddle playing on ballads fed the fire with melodies that mesmerized ...like watching a slow dance of flames as the bonfire burned down.
His uptempo solo's threw in a firecracker, making his side of the stage explode with melodic embers that landed hot in your ears.
Vic Chartrand's mandoline was kindling that got the fire started and he kept on stocking it
when he switched to frailing and bluegrass banjo.
